Pumpkin Decorating

Bright orange pumpkins fill the field as we drive to the local farm.  I love to fill my home with varying sized pumpkins, squash and gourds.  They truly bring the feel and look of fall.  I thought I would be nice to create a post about decorating these lovely fruits.  Now I'm all for carving, creating spooky pumpkin faces, but why not try your hand at something a little different?

Painted Mini Pumpkins - via
First we have some lovely painted mini pumpkins.  Use a color that matches your home decor and throw in a pop color to add some interest.  Here the blogger used white mini pumpkins and painted them with pink.  Head on over to Michaels for acrylic paint and create your own!

Glitter Pumpkin - via
Next we have glittered pumpkins!  You can either paint your pumpkin a color first and glitter just the top, or have fun and glitter the entire thing!  Choose fun colors, like purple to add a little pop to the plain ol' orange and black theme.  Here they used spray adhesive and glitter, how easy is that!

Cider

Fall is here...there's no denying it.  The crisp air in the morning, a few leaves changing colors and the presence of Apple Cider.  I've never been a real fan of drinking apple cider "straight" from the container.  So I always add spices to mine and heat it up for a nice warm beverage.  Mmm..I can imagine it now, a steaming cup of warm spiced cider and a good book.

I thought I'd do a nice post on a few yummy cider recipes that you can make at home, enjoy :)

Halloween Part 2

Continuing with our Halloween series we start off with one foot in the grave. No, no we're not putting you in a coffin, but turning you into the walking dead, a skeleton that is.  Probably one of the most popular and "been around forever" costumes.  Skeletons are a probably not what you have in mind as a "sexy" fun costume.  Well we're here to change that and came up with a couple of good ideas (and all of these can be found in your closet or with just a few low cost items).

We have two styles shown here, one is the over the top Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead costume.  Now this is definitely a fun, funky and "sexy" costume.  We used an fluffy skirt, corset top, bright shoes and a huge flower hair clip.  Pair this outfit with the classic day of the dead make-up, our Skull with Bow Post and Skull hand Necklace and you're set to go!

Skeleton Hand Necklace - $20.00
Our second option it the traditional skeleton outfit. You can choose to purchase pre-made skeleton designed pieces or you can make your own, which is very easy.  Here's how Martha Stewart does it.

Skull with Bow Post - $20.00 each

Halloween 2012

Let's talk about how bad I've been at blogging lately.  I've gone through a lot of changes lately, personally and professionally, and it has taken a little toll on getting back into the blog world.  But enough about me, let's talk about Halloween!  I know it's September, and maybe a little soon..but Halloween is right around the corner, and we need to get started on deciding what your going to wear :)

We launched our Halloween styles on September 7th and have a several styles left up for grabs.  Let's talk about different costume designs.  Now I know you can head off to the local store and pick up a $50 outfit, by why not search your own closet for something and just purchase a few small pieces (in the end saving a little moola).

In our witch costume we put together to ensemble, one with a long flowing skirt and the other with skinny black pants.  Pick out your black pieces and pair them with a bright or edgy shoe.  We also paired the outfit with our mini Witch Necklace, a broom and a mini witch hat.  Talk about a one of a kind outfit!  Here is a makeup tutorial for a "sexy" witch look!

Mini Witch Necklace - $18

Next is our Robot costume!  Now this one is a fun one, most robots are silver but why not change it up?!  Pick out a single metallic color from your closet and pair it with a matching color wig.  Try out some great make up to bring the look over the top.

We paired these outfits with our Robot necklace, gloves, and a headband.

Robot Necklace - $20 each

Now aren't these great!  We'll come up with a few other ideas for you and post them before Halloween:)
