DIY Rings

Above the knuckle rings are so popular these days that I thought I'd share an easy ring that I made this weekend.  It's really simple and takes less than 10 minutes to make and costs around $5.00.

Here is what you need:
- Chain - use any color and style you like.  An even better idea would be to spray paint the chain a fun color!
- Pliers
- Jewelry cutter
- Optional tape measure

First step is to wrap the chain around your finger to measure the length it needs to be.  I like to make it at least one link smaller because you'll be adding the jump ring.  You can even use a tape measure and wrap it around your finger to get the desired length.

Once you've determined the size cut the chain.  Next take the jump ring and connect the two ends.  Viola, a new knuckle ring!

Fall Fashion

Fall is here and the weather is getting crisp.  I've started to pull out a few winter essentials like boots, sweaters and scarves.

I love going through all my items when a new season begins and another one ends, because it allows me to donate old items that I no longer wear, hem any pieces that might have holes and pick up a few items that need to be replaced.

This season I've stocked up on long sleeve shirts, socks, a few sweaters and a new pair of boots.  Have you picked up any new items this fall?

Designer DIY...

DIY - Red Valentino Bow Shirt
With summer here and the need for fun/stylish DIY I stumbled upon this fabulous blog.  Donatella from inspiration & realization searches through designer fashion and spots out items that she can easily create for half (most of the time more) the price.

Red Valentino
Here she takes a Red Valentino Bow Back Cotton Jersey T-shirt design and creates her own design.  Personally it would be super easy to just buy a 1 1/2 yards of tulle (with the little knots on it) tying a bow at the top attaching it and then sewing down the sides using the pattern attached.  Either way it's a fun DIY to try!

Lazy Sunday...

It's getting so warm out, and since A drives a jeep (which he loves to ride around in with the top off) I thought I'd pick a few pieces perfect for a leisure drive on a Sunday...

Friends...

Sailing to Nowhere
I've always been a die hard fan of fashion blogs and Sailing to Nowhere has become one of my favorites to read.  Cait is a 20-something blogger who loves to mix vintage finds with the new pieces.  She isn't afraid of color (a girl after my own heart) and creates some wonderfully unique outfits! Be sure to check out this sweet blog, you'll probably become addicted like me...

Sunny Weekend...

Shirt - Old Navy, Pants - Old Navy, Shoes - Vintage,
Lace Earrings and Bracelet - Rebecca

Oh Monday you come too quickly, but I had a wonderful weekend and I hope you did too!  So today is the day, I'm starting my outfit collection photos.  I wore this little casual number to a lovely mother's day dinner at Blue Agave.
I knew we would be walking around all afternoon in Baltimore so I didn't want to be to warm and wanted to be comfortable.  I've also noticed that I seem to have an obsession with Old Navy....

Blue Agave had the most delicious food!  I had Chicken Relleno with fresh guacamole..YUMMY!

It was a wonderful family meal that I was able to send with the most important people in my life!

Party Dresses...

After living in Miami for 2 years I've come to own a large collection of party dresses, party shoes and numerous clutches, but a girl can always have more...right?!
Lulu's, Urban Outfitters, TopShop, TopShop, ModCloth, Lulu's
I love to have a special occasion to purchase a dress for, and a couple of weeks from now I have a bachlorette party to attend in Atlantic City.  I know AC is not Vegas, but I still excited (and will have plenty of photos for you to enjoy when I get back). I plan on trying my hand at the slot machines...which I've never done before, and try a very expensive but fruity cocktail!  I've been planning out my wardrobe but with the need for a new dress I've picked out a few of my favorites, above, that I would love to wear...

Also have you had a chance to see Kate and Pippa's party dress from the Royal wedding?  I'm dying over the Emerald Temperley London dress Pippa wore.  Not sure if I'm feeling Kate's dress but shes gorgeous so she could wear a sack and look amazing!
